Recap: Locals gathered at Fifth Third Park to celebrate Spartanburga Nights—a full-throttle homage to Talladega Nights, headlined by NASCAR’s own Jeremy Clements.

On May 21st, 2025, Spartanburg came alive under the lights of Fifth Third Park for one of the most high-octane events of the season—Spartanburga Nights. Presented by Spartan Waste, this special night brought together our hometown Hub City Spartanburgers, Jeremy Clements Racing, and Fox Sports Spartanburg for a powerful celebration of community, speed, and spirit.

And to top it all off? The Spartanburgers brought home a 3–2 win over the Rome Emperors—sealing the night with a proud #DubCity.

Jeremy Clements Hits the Field in Style

One of the most unforgettable moments of the evening came as NASCAR Xfinity Series driver Jeremy Clements made a grand entrance—driving his Charlotte race car through the left field gate and onto the field. Fans lined up early to meet Jeremy, snap photos with the No. 51 car, and grab autographs.

Spartan Waste, the event’s presenting sponsor, gave up the hood space on Jeremy’s car to honor the Spartanburgers’ inaugural season and highlight Spartan Waste’s official partnership with the team—underscoring their deep investment in the local community and love of the game.

The first 500 fans through the gate received a limited-edition Jeremy Clements bobblehead, making Spartanburga Nights even more memorable for local race and baseball fans alike.

Racing Fuel & Custom Merch Turn Heads

The event also marked the official debut of Racing Fuel, a custom beer brewed by Rockers Brewing Co., designed to celebrate Spartanburg’s love of sports and speed. With bold, collaborative branding from Spartan Waste, Jeremy Clements Racing, and the Spartanburgers, the can featured checkered flag elements and vintage flair that had fans snapping pics and raising toasts all night.

Also released: a limited-edition t-shirt featuring Chuck the Burger chugging Racing Fuel from a race can—a custom design by Arrowhead Design Group that quickly became a fan favorite in the stands.

Live Radio, Local Flavor

Before the game, Fox Sports Spartanburg hosted a live broadcast from outside the left field gate, building anticipation and giving fans an inside look at the collaboration, community, and excitement surrounding Spartanburga Nights.

At 6:35 PM, the Spartanburgers took the field—and didn’t disappoint. With a gritty performance and some solid plays, they edged out the Rome Emperors with a final score of 3–2.

Keeping It Clean, the Spartan Waste Way

As the official waste management partner of the Spartanburgers, Spartan Waste also brought a cleaner kind of energy to the game with our signature Sixth Inning Trash Pickup. Every sixth inning, our team joins stadium staff to sweep the concourse and reinforce the values of pride and responsibility in keeping Spartanburg beautiful.

A Celebration of Community

Spartanburga Nights was more than just a game—it was a celebration of Spartanburg’s momentum. A moment where local sports, businesses, media, and fans came together to create something totally unique and deeply rooted in community pride.

From the roar of the race car to the final out, from Racing Fuel to the sixth-inning sweep, the night was powered by partnerships—and built by Spartanburg, for Spartanburg.

Thank you to the Spartanburgers, Jeremy Clements, Fox Sports Spartanburg, and everyone who made Spartanburga Nights a success.
