Wofford Football Player: Atkins Roberts
In July 2021, the National Collegiate Athletics Association (NCAA) began to allow student-athletes the ability to earn compensation for their name, image, or likeness. With Spartanburg being a college town and a hub for outstanding athletic talent, Spartan Waste knew they wanted to support a local college athlete as soon as the program was announced.
As a senior at Wofford, Atkins Roberts has served as the Terrier’s star punter and kickoff specialist during his years on the team. Last season (Fall 2022), Wofford had highlights at home against The Citadel, East Tennessee State University, and the Virginia Military Institute, finishing off the Southern Conference with a total of three wins and five losses. During home games, Spartan Waste cans were on the field at halftime, keeping Gibbs Stadium clean while spectators competed in halftime contests.
