We Kept it Clean at the first-ever Spartanburg Cocktail Masters!
As a premier sponsor of the inaugural Cocktail Masters event, Spartan Waste was eager to celebrate the artistry and growing scenery of making cocktails in Spartanburg. Those at the event kept an eye out for our green Spartan Waste trash cans as they enjoyed what all there was to offer at the first-ever Cocktail Masters!
Spartanburg’s Cocktail Masters took place Friday, August 4, 2023, at the 1881 Event Hall in Spartanburg (805 Spartan Blvd., Spartanburg, SC 29301) with around 400 attendees. Featuring over 15 Spartanburg bars/restaurants, we saw who had what it takes to make the best cocktail in our area. With fun for the whole family, Cocktail Masters is a drink-tasting event featuring live music, local vendors, games, and food!
To participate in the tasting portion of the event, you had to be 21+ with a valid ID upon arrival. While spectators tasted, the judges voted on the cocktails the participating local restaurants and bars created – there even was a corresponding mocktail competition! For both competitions, a winner and runner-up were awarded – check them out below:

- Runner-up Cocktail Winner: Willy Taco with “Smokin’ Fuzz Buzz” (@willytacoofficial)
- Mocktail Winner: Main Street Pub (@mainstreetspartanburg)
- Cocktail Winner: Southside Smokehouse with “Captain Cucumber’s Kentucky Garden Party” (@southsidesmokehouselandrum)
Not only did Southside Smokehouse show out with their crisp cocktail, they made custom additions featuring local ingredients, all on a gorgeous handmade table display and a distinct air of professionalism brought by their featured bartender, Robert Hall.
Cocktail Masters was held to benefit the local non-profit organization Hubitality, and helped raise $3,250 to assist their mission of supporting hospitality industry employees in Spartanburg.

Our cans proved useful as folks utilized their tasting tickets and enjoyed the unique cocktails created by each contestant.
